Imperia’s area has one
of the most vast gastronomical
culture of the region.

According to the critics, this is due to the endurance of its local culinary traditions, but also to its history of pasta production and olive oil industries. Pasta Agnesi, set in Imperia, was one of the first brands to export pasta in the United States, while Olio Carli, Olio Novaro and Olio Berio where leading national producers. Today this richness is preserved, declined in little village inns, specialized shops and markets, michelin starred restaurants, family run business and young entrepreneurs. Last but not least, in summer local fairs present some of the oldest recipes: ligurian style stockfish, brandacujun, pan fritu, snails, frandura, ravioli, farinata to name a few.
